10th Joint Committee Meeting on Defense Industry and Logistics Cooperation Between India and South Korea Concludes

The 10th meeting of the Joint Committee on Defense Industry and Logistics Cooperation (JCM) between India and the Republic of Korea was held on September 29, 2026, in New Delhi. The primary objective of the meeting was to review current bilateral cooperation in the fields of defense industry and logistics and to deliberate on measures to make defense relations more comprehensive and robust.

During the discussions, both nations focused on ways to expand cooperation between their respective defense industries and promote maximum participation in defense production and logistics. This significant meeting was co-chaired by Dinesh Mahur, Additional Secretary (Defense Production) of the Ministry of Defence, and Kim Il-dong, Vice Minister of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) of the Republic of Korea.

Also in attendance were Seong-ho Lee, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India, and Dr. Vijay Namdevrao Jade, Joint Secretary (Naval Systems) of the Department of Defense Production, Ministry of Defence, along with other senior officials. Representatives from leading defense companies of both countries also participated. From India, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and BEML Limited were present, while the Republic of Korea was represented by Hanwha Aerospace, Korean Air, Hanwha Systems, Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), and DS Neukers.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Kim Il-dong, Vice Minister of DAPA, met with Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth. During this meeting, both leaders expressed their confidence in strengthening bilateral defense cooperation and reiterated their shared commitment to expanding collaboration in the defense industry and logistics sectors. This meeting served as an important platform to further solidify the continuously growing defense ties between India and the Republic of Korea.
