Bharat Taxi Service Launched in Five Uttar Pradesh Cities, CM Unveils Krishak Samridhi Portal

Union Minister of State for Cooperation, Shri Murlidhar Mohol, formally launched the 'Bharat Taxi' service in Lucknow. This service has been introduced in Lucknow as well as Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Kanpur, and Prayagraj. Approximately 40,000 drivers (Sarthis) have already registered across these five cities.

During the event, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath launched the 'Mukhyamantri Krishak Samridhi Yojana' portal. Additionally, the 'Urvarak Setu' mobile app, developed by the Uttar Pradesh Cooperation Department, and the UPCDC mobile app of the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Database Center were also launched. To facilitate the expansion of Bharat Taxi, the Airport Authority, Lucknow Metro Rail, and Lucknow Police signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the service provider.

Shri Murlidhar Mohol explained that 'Bharat Taxi' is based on a cooperative model centered on the principle "Driver is the Owner." Under this model, the driver is not merely a service provider but a partner and owner of the cooperative system, ensuring that the maximum profit from earnings reaches the drivers directly. Since this initiative began in February 2026, more than 1 million drivers have joined within six months, and over 100 crore rupees have been deposited into their accounts. Currently, this service is also operational in Delhi, Gujarat, Mumbai, Jaipur, and Chandigarh.

Discussing other achievements in the cooperation sector, the Union Minister stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Sahkar se Samridhi' (Prosperity through Cooperation), the Ministry of Cooperation has launched more than 160 new initiatives over the past five years. The computerization of 80,000 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) across the country is ongoing at an estimated cost of approximately 3,000 crore rupees.

Regarding Uttar Pradesh, Shri Mohol noted that more than 5.4 million new members, including approximately 1.75 million farmers, have joined under the M-PACS membership campaign in the state. Furthermore, the computerization of about 6,300 PACS in the state is being carried out in three phases, and work is underway for the digital transformation of 750 Agricultural and Rural Cooperative Bank units. The Uttar Pradesh State Cooperative Bank has become the first cooperative bank in the country to be authorized to issue and update Aadhaar cards.
