E-Auction of 459 RINL Land Parcels Scheduled for October 12 and 16; NLMC Conducts Mock Training
The National Land Monetization Corporation (NLMC) has organized in-person and online mock training sessions for bidders ahead of the e-auction of 459 RINL plots in Visakhapatnam.

The National Land Monetization Corporation (NLMC), under the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) of the Ministry of Finance, has conducted training sessions for potential bidders for the upcoming e-auction of 459 land parcels belonging to Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL). The auction of these plots, belonging to RINL, the corporate entity of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, is scheduled to take place in two phases on October 12 and 16, 2026.
To familiarize bidders with the digital process, NLMC organized an in-person mock e-auction training session in Visakhapatnam on October 6, 2026, followed by an online training session on October 7, 2026. These sessions were aimed at providing participants with a practical understanding of the bidding interface and the online auction procedure.
Mr. Rohan Chand Thakur, CEO of NLMC, stated that the objective of these sessions is to make the auction process transparent, accessible, and user-friendly. He emphasized that the auction of RINL land is a significant opportunity for asset monetization and that NLMC is committed to executing it in a professional and streamlined manner.
Auction details and schedules indicate that 459 premium and encumbrance-free plots, spanning a total of 93,572.21 square yards, will be auctioned. These include areas such as HB Colony, Madilapalem, and Auto Nagar, Gajuwaka. The plot sizes range from 128.94 square yards to 2,728 square yards.
The first phase will take place on October 12, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, covering 243 plots. The deadline for registration and submission of the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) for this phase is October 8, 2026, by 5:00 PM.
The second phase will be held on October 16, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, covering 216 plots. The deadline for registration and EMD submission for this phase is October 14, 2026, by 5:00 PM.
The EMD has been set at ₹2 lakh per plot. The process is being conducted via the RailTel E-Nivida e-procurement platform, with Quikr India Pvt. Ltd. (QIPL) serving as the transaction consultant.
Prior to the auction, NLMC also organized investor outreach programs in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, and Hyderabad, which saw participation from both domestic and foreign investors. This initiative is part of a broader objective to monetize surplus and non-core assets of government agencies.
