Election Commission Extends SIR Process Deadline for Andhra Pradesh and Meghalaya
The Election Commission of India has decided to extend the dates for the SIR process in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Meghalaya.

During a meeting held at Nirvachan Sadan in New Delhi, the Election Commission decided to extend the dates for the SIR process in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Meghalaya. The meeting was attended by Chief Election Commissioner Mr. Gyanesh Kumar, Election Commissioner Dr. S.S. Sandhu, and Dr. Vivek Joshi.
According to the revised schedule issued by the Commission, the notice period and the window for the settlement of claims and objections in Andhra Pradesh will now run from July 31, 2026, to October 10, 2026, with the final publication scheduled for October 16, 2026. For the state of Meghalaya, the date for final publication has been set for October 26, 2026.
