Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Visits Singapore for High-Level Meetings with Global Investors and Top CEOs
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be on an official visit to Singapore from October 9 to 11, 2026, to meet key leaders and CEOs to promote investment and trade partnerships.

Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman, will be on an official visit to Singapore from October 9 to 11, 2026. During this visit, she will participate in several high-level meetings and discussions with Singaporean leaders, senior members of the business and investment community, and global institutional investors.
During the trip, Mrs. Sitharaman will meet with the President of Singapore, His Excellency Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Prime Minister His Excellency Mr. Lawrence Wong, Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Gan Kim Yong, and Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan. The primary objective of these meetings will be to discuss key areas of the India-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and to advance the outcomes of the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR). Key topics of discussion will include trade and investment, digital financial connectivity, capital markets, taxation, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, skill development, and aviation.
Singapore is the largest source of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in India. According to official data, approximately 194.68 billion US dollars in FDI flowed into India from Singapore between April 2000 and March 2026. Institutional investors from Singapore, such as GIC and Temasek, have made significant investments across various sectors of the Indian economy.
The Finance Minister will participate in a series of Government-to-Business (G2B) meetings and a roundtable with the Singaporean investor community, prominent international investors, financial institutions, industry leaders, as well as hedge fund and portfolio fund managers. These sessions will serve as a platform to exchange ideas regarding India's growth trajectory and investment opportunities.
Additionally, Mrs. Sitharaman will hold one-to-one meetings with the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of several prominent institutions, including the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited, DBS Bank Limited, Standard Chartered Bank, British International Investment (BII), IHH Healthcare Berhad, the Asia-Pacific representative of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc., B Capital, and HPS Investment Partners. She will also meet with the Chairperson of Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (SEB), a Director of the Board of Mitsui & Co., Ltd., and the Executive Chairman and Founding Partner of TPG.
Platforms such as the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) and GIFT City could provide opportunities for greater participation of Singaporean capital. The Ministry of Finance, in coordination with other relevant ministries and industry organizations, will assist in establishing connections between interested Singaporean investors, Indian companies, financial institutions, and state governments. This visit reflects India's commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with Singapore and enhancing economic outcomes.
