Ministry of Textiles Launches Awareness Activities Under 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2026' Campaign
The Ministry of Textiles is conducting a nationwide 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2026' campaign across all its organizations to increase commitment toward cleanliness in daily life.
A nationwide initiative, the 'Swachhata Hi Seva-2026' campaign, is being carried out by the Ministry of Textiles with the objective of strengthening the commitment to cleanliness and sanitation in daily life. This campaign is being organized across all organizations under the Ministry, involving intensive cleaning drives in all departments and rooms.
Under this campaign, various organizations have conducted specific activities. The Jute Corporation of India Limited (JCI) organized a 'Swachhata Pledge Ceremony' at its headquarters. More than 400 employees participated in the cleaning drives conducted across various JCI offices. Additionally, art competitions for school children were organized under the theme 'Swachh Pathshala – Youth for Cleanliness' to develop a sense of responsibility toward the environment among students.
The Cotton Corporation of India Limited conducted special cleaning drives in parks and gardens. Employees actively participated in activities such as sweeping public parks and the collection and proper disposal of dry leaves and other waste materials.
The Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Limited decorated the VIP hall of its showroom with greenery and potted plants. Furthermore, damaged wooden racks and counters were removed from the showroom and placed outside the premises, which will soon be disposed of through e-auction.
The National Jute Board (NJB) organized selfie and social media promotional activities to raise awareness. Officials and employees shared photos related to cleanliness to encourage citizens to join the campaign.
The National Handloom Development Corporation Limited (NHDC) administered a cleanliness pledge to employees at its Noida office premises on September 17, 2026. A comprehensive cleaning of the headquarters premises was carried out on September 22, 2026. While delivering a lecture on cleanliness, the corporation's nodal officer stated that cleanliness must begin with oneself. The NHDC has also issued the necessary guidelines regarding this campaign to all its regional offices.
