Namaste Yojana: Chevuri Anjaneyulu from Andhra Pradesh Transforms Financial Status Through Swachhata Udyami Yojana
Chevuri Anjaneyulu from Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, has increased his income and provided better financial security for his family with the help of the Swachhata Udyami Yojana (SUY).
Mr. Chevuri Anjaneyulu, a resident of Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh belonging to the Scheduled Tribe community, has significantly improved his livelihood through the 'Swachhata Udyami Yojana' (SUY), operated under the Namaste Yojana. The 25-year-old Mr. Anjaneyulu began working as a waste picker with his parents at a very young age. However, due to financial hardships and social discrimination, he was unable to attend school, and his access to basic facilities remained limited.
For seven years, he worked hard to support his wife and two children, but the income generated from waste picking was not sufficient to cover household expenses or plan for his children's future.
A turning point came on June 19, 2023, when Mr. Anjaneyulu and three other members were provided assistance for a group project under SUY through the National Safai Karamcharis Finance and Development Corporation. The total cost of this project was 35 lakh rupees, which included 17.5 lakh rupees as a loan and 17.5 lakh rupees as an advance capital subsidy.
As a result of this government assistance, his monthly income has increased by approximately 10,000 rupees. With this additional income, he is now able to easily meet his family's expenses, and both of his children are receiving an education in an English-medium private school. According to Mr. Anjaneyulu, this support has strengthened his economic condition and made his family's future more secure.
