PM Memento E-Auction 2026: 32 Rare Specimens of Kerala's Cultural Heritage Available for Auction

The 8th PM Memento E-Auction 2026, organized by the Ministry of Culture, includes 32 diverse mementos showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Kerala. This collection presents unique examples of the state's traditional crafts, performing arts, maritime traditions, and spiritual legacy.

Among the crafts and maritime traditions included in the collection are the traditional 'Nettur Petti' (jewel box), historically used by noble families for storing jewelry, and a miniature model of the 'Chundan Vallam' (traditional snake boat). Additionally, a miniature 'Beypore Uru' (traditional wooden sea dhow), crafted by the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) Calicut under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, is also part of the auction.

Under the performing arts category, the collection includes a performance doll of a Kathakali dancer, a print of a Kathakali artist, and a sculpture of 'Bhairavan Theyyam' related to the ritual dance-art tradition of Northern Kerala. To showcase Kerala's mural painting, paintings of Radha, Krishna, and a Gopi, created by artists from the Mural Painting Institute, Guruvayur Devaswom using the traditional Panchavarna formula on cement sheets, have been included.

Representing spiritual and social heritage are a devotional portrait of Adi Shankaracharya, a carved wooden plaque from the Sivagiri Mutt, a print of Poykayil Sri Kumaran Guru Devan, and a photograph of Sri Vidyadhiraja Chattampi Swamikal. Furthermore, a commemorative artwork created to mark the 100th anniversary of the Vaikom Satyagraha is part of this collection. Other specimens include a traditional Nettipattam, a brass Vastu Vilakku, a carved idol of Lord Guruvayurappan, and a traditional conch souvenir.
