Sanskrit is the Golden Thread Connecting India's Diverse Languages: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan
Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan emphasized the preservation and promotion of ancient knowledge during the second convocation ceremony of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University.

Vice President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan addressed the second convocation ceremony of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University held at the Qutub Institutional Area in New Delhi. On this occasion, he congratulated the graduating students, their parents, and the university community, and presented gold medals to meritorious students. During the ceremony, the Vice President also administered an oath to the attendees to remain free from drug abuse.
Discussing the importance of Sanskrit, the Vice President stated that while every Indian language has enriched the nation, Sanskrit is the "golden thread" that weaves the pearls of India's various languages into a magnificent garland. He commended the university for achieving the highest NAAC grade of A++ and praised the research being conducted in various fields of the Indian knowledge tradition. He also appreciated the 44-year tradition of publishing the Vidyapeeth Panchang and the teaching of classical subjects such as Prakrit and Vastu Shastra.
Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan asserted that India's development must be rooted in its civilizational heritage. He mentioned that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, a favorable ecosystem for the revival of Sanskrit has been created through initiatives like the National Education Policy 2020 and the Ashtadashi Yojana. He emphasized the need for the preservation, study, and publication of rare Sanskrit texts and unpublished manuscripts. In this context, he referred to the 'Gyan Bharatam Mission,' under which a corpus fund of 500 crore rupees has been established for manuscript preservation and documentation.
Addressing the students, the Vice President called upon them to remain lifelong learners and to utilize technology for the promotion of Sanskrit in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI). He advised the youth to stay away from drugs and narcotics and to use social media with wisdom and restraint.
During the event, the Vice President released three publications titled 'Amnaya Kalpataru', 'Vidyamitram', and 'Shodh Prabha' (July-September 2026). The program was attended by Shri Sukanta Majumdar, Union Minister of State for Education and Development of North Eastern Region, University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Murali Manohar Pathak, and several other scholars and faculty members.
