The DST reviewed the implementation readiness of its autonomous institutions and regional organizations for Special Campaign 6, scheduled to run from October 2 to October 31, 2026.

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) has reviewed the implementation preparations of its autonomous institutions and regional organizations following the successful completion of the preparatory phase of Special Campaign 6 on September 30, 2026. To this end, a joint review meeting was held at the DST headquarters to ensure coordinated and result-oriented action during the implementation phase, which will take place from October 2 to October 31, 2026.
The meeting was chaired by the Joint Secretary (Administration) of the DST, who also serves as the Nodal Officer for this campaign. Senior officials from the headquarters attended in person, while representatives from the Survey of India, the National Atlas and Thematic Mapping Organization (NATMO), Technology Innovation Hubs (TIH), and various missions and laboratories participated via video conferencing.
Addressing the participants, the Joint Secretary praised the efforts made during the preparatory phase and called for sustained momentum and timely implementation throughout the campaign. The organizations were urged to translate set goals into concrete results and undertake impactful initiatives that promote cleanliness, efficiency, transparency, and good governance. The Nodal Officer clarified that the campaign should not be limited to routine cleaning but should focus on systematic improvements in workplace efficiency and resource management.
The responsible management of e-waste was highlighted as a key priority during the meeting. All organizations were instructed to identify and segregate e-waste and ensure its disposal only through authorized recyclers, in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022. This measure aims to encourage environmental sustainability and safe disposal practices.
Additionally, organizations were advised to remove obsolete records and materials, maximize the utilization of office space, and ensure the timely disposal of pending cases. The Nodal Officer called upon the organizations to showcase the achievements of the campaign through their official websites and social media platforms and to document successful work practices to create widespread public awareness.
