Tamil Nadu: Mrs. Akalya Becomes Flour Mill Entrepreneur with NSFDC Support, Transforms Life Through Self-Employment
Mrs. Akalya from Tamil Nadu, who was searching for employment after completing her diploma, has achieved success by starting a flour mill business with a loan from the NSFDC.
Mrs. Akalya, a resident of the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu, has established her identity in the field of self-employment through financial assistance and determination. After completing her diploma, she faced significant difficulties in finding suitable employment. She aspired to start a small business that would allow her to earn a livelihood and provide financial support to her family.
The National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC) played a pivotal role in turning Mrs. Akalya's dream into reality. Under the NSFDC term loan scheme, she was provided with a loan of 1.80 lakh rupees. This loan was made available on January 20, 2025, through the Tamil Nadu Gramin Bank at an annual interest rate of 6 percent.
Utilizing this financial assistance, Mrs. Akalya set up a flour mill at her home. After overcoming the shortage of capital, she successfully began operating the business through her skills and hard work. Currently, her flour mill is running smoothly, and the income generated from the business is helping her meet her family's needs.
