Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia Reviews Preparations for IMC 2026 at Yashobhoomi
The Union Minister for Communications visited Yashobhoomi in Dwarka to review the final preparations ahead of the inauguration of India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026.

Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, visited the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 venue at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, prior to the inauguration scheduled for October 8, 2026, by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The primary objective of the visit was to review the final arrangements for the event.
During the visit, the Union Minister conducted a detailed inspection of the exhibition area and interacted with participating startups and exhibitors. He presided over review meetings with senior officials from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), and other partner agencies. Addressing the media, Shri Scindia highlighted the global significance and ambitions of IMC 2026.
The Union Minister stated that this marks the 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress, which will showcase the potential and proven model of Indian telecom connectivity. He noted that India is now moving toward becoming a producer nation rather than just a service provider nation.
Based on the theme "Scale Without Boundaries," the event will demonstrate India's progress in telecommunications, digital connectivity, and technical innovation. Highlighting the achievements of India's digital ecosystem, it was noted that the country now has 1.01 billion broadband subscribers and over 100 million internet subscribers. Furthermore, 5G services cover 99.9 percent of districts and have reached 85 percent of the population, while 4G connectivity is available in 98.7 percent of villages. India has become the fifth country in the world to develop an indigenous 4G stack.
Key highlights of the event will include the third International 6G Symposium, CTO and CEO Roundtables, Telecom Stack for the AI Era, Satellite Communications, a 5G Innovation Hackathon, the Startup World Cup, and a Cybersecurity Summit. Additionally, ministerial programs on "Investing in the Next Billion Digital Connections" and sessions such as the AI Safety India-UK panel will be organized.
IMC 2026 is expected to see an attendance of over 150,000 people, with more than 500 exhibitors, 600 startups, and 900 thought leaders participating. This edition will feature over 2,000 technical use cases, more than 120 sessions, and over 700 investor meetings. More than 300 investors and venture capital firms are expected to attend, providing startups with opportunities for global capital and mentorship.
