Viksit Bharat 2047: Dr. L. Murugan Urges Youth to Lead Nation Through Innovation and Skill Development
Union Minister Dr. L. Murugan inspired youth to adopt modern technologies and explore opportunities in the creative economy to contribute toward making India a developed nation by 2047.

Dr. L. Murugan, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, addressed students and learners at an institute in Noida, calling upon the youth to utilize their skills, creativity, and innovative potential to achieve the goal of 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, which places youth power at the center of India's journey toward becoming a developed nation. Dr. Murugan stated that Viksit Bharat is not merely a dream, but a future that today's youth will shape.
The Union Minister emphasized the role of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in making education more flexible and skill-oriented. He noted that in a rapidly changing world, lifelong learning is essential to acquire new skills throughout different stages of a career. Discussing the importance of online education, he stressed the need to make it accessible so that learners can adapt themselves according to professional requirements. Additionally, he described the government's 'One Nation One Subscription' initiative as a significant step toward increasing access to global knowledge resources.
While discussing employment opportunities, Dr. Murugan cited RBI-KLEMS data, which indicates that approximately 17.1 crore jobs were created in India between 2014-15 and 2023-24. He urged the youth not to limit themselves to degrees alone but to develop practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidence so they can not only find employment but also create opportunities for others.
Regarding emerging technologies, he encouraged the youth to explore opportunities in fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), gaming, animation, visual effects, extended reality, and digital content. He called upon the youth to move beyond being mere consumers of technology and content and instead become creators for the world.
Concluding his address, Dr. Murugan emphasized the importance of constitutional values, scientific thinking, and fundamental duties in nation-building. He stated that the country's progress by 2047 will depend on the ability of the youth to acquire skills and innovate.
