Amit Shah Visits JGMM Medical College and KLE Hospital Campus in Hubballi, Karnataka
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah visited the newly constructed JGMM Medical College and KLE Hospital in Hubballi, which features 1,200 beds and 250 MBBS seats.
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Mr. Amit Shah visited the campus of the KLE Jagadguru Gangadhar Mahaswami Moorusveermath (JGMM) Medical College and the KLE Hospital and Medical Research Centre located in Hubballi, Karnataka.
Sharing information via the X platform, Mr. Amit Shah noted that the KLE institution has been serving the country through education and healthcare services for over 110 years. He stated that this new facility, equipped with 250 MBBS seats and 1,200 beds, is a significant step toward providing world-class healthcare in Karnataka. It is noteworthy that 300 of the hospital's total beds have been reserved for the poor.
The medical college and hospital were constructed on approximately 50 acres of land at an estimated cost of nearly 700 crore rupees, with a total built-up area of 2 million square feet. The institution will allow patients to access various medical facilities under one roof.
The hospital will provide basic specialty services including General Medicine, Surgery, Orthopedics, Pulmonology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Psychiatry, Dentistry, and Physiotherapy. Additionally, super-specialty services such as Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Organ Transplantation, Urology, Oncology, Endocrinology, and modern laboratory facilities will be provided.
Expanding on the institution's state-of-the-art facilities, arrangements have also been made for 24-hour high-speed emergency and trauma care, a modern dialysis unit, digital X-rays, high-resolution CT scans, and ultrasonography.
