CSIR Launches Science and Innovation Quiz on 'My Bharat' Portal, Offering Youth Lab Visit Opportunities
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has introduced the 'CSIR SciQuiz' for all Indian citizens to mark its 85th Foundation Day.
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), operating under the Ministry of Science and Technology, has launched the 'CSIR Science and Innovation Quiz' (CSIR SciQuiz) in collaboration with the Department of Youth Affairs under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. This initiative is being organized on the My Bharat (Mera Yuva Bharat) portal to commemorate the 85th Foundation Day celebrations of CSIR.
The quiz is being conducted from September 20 to September 26, 2026, and is open to all Indian citizens. Through this quiz, participants will be asked multiple-choice questions regarding CSIR's scientific achievements, technologies, innovations, institutions, and their contributions toward the nation.
The scope of the quiz is extensive, covering diverse sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, environment, infrastructure, energy, aerospace, biotechnology, and strategic technologies. Its primary objective is to demonstrate how CSIR is transforming its research into useful solutions for society and industries.
The primary goal of this initiative is to foster scientific awareness, curiosity, and public engagement among the youth. Additionally, it provides a platform for participants to learn about India's network of leading research laboratories. Winners of the competition will have the opportunity to undertake a one-day visit to a CSIR laboratory of their choice, allowing them to gain direct experience of the country's scientific research and innovation ecosystem.
CSIR has clarified that the 'SciQuiz' series will not be limited to the September session. Further quiz sessions will be organized on the My Bharat portal in the coming months, covering various aspects of CSIR's research and innovations.
