Government of India to Launch 'Special Campaign 6.0' from October 2, Focusing on Cleanliness and Disposal of Pending Tasks
The government will conduct Special Campaign 6.0 from October 2 to 31, 2026, to ensure cleanliness in government offices, scientific disposal of e-waste, and timely resolution of pending cases.

The Government of India will organize 'Special Campaign 6.0' from October 2 to October 31, 2026. The primary objective of this annual campaign is to institutionalize cleanliness practices in government offices and ensure the timely disposal of pending matters. Special focus will be placed on the effective management of records, efficient utilization of office space, and the scientific disposal of e-waste.
The campaign is being implemented in three phases. The first phase, the 'Preparatory Phase,' will run from September 15 to September 30, 2026. During this period, departments are identifying documents for disposal, including those related to Members of Parliament, state governments, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), inter-ministerial documents (including cabinet notes), parliamentary assurances pending for more than three months, public grievances, and appeals. This phase involves reviewing files, weeding out unnecessary documents, and identifying unusable materials.
The second phase will be the 'Implementation Phase,' spanning from October 2 to October 31, 2026. During this stage, cleanliness activities will be conducted in offices, e-waste and other scrap materials will be disposed of scientifically, and pending references will be resolved in a time-bound manner.
The third and final phase will be the 'Evaluation Phase,' scheduled from November 16 to November 30, 2026. This phase will involve the review and assessment of the work performed by various ministries and departments and the results achieved.
It is noteworthy that the Department of Commerce achieved significant results during the previous 'Special Campaign 5.0.' The department reviewed 88,385 files and removed 46,255 files, thereby freeing up 36,005 square feet of office space. Additionally, approximately 70 lakh rupees were generated from the disposal of scrap, and 277 sites were cleaned. Special Campaign 6.0 will build upon these efforts, emphasizing the systematic management and environment-friendly disposal of e-waste.
