Hisar: ICAR-CIRB Organizes Swachhata Samvad Program Under 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2026'

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes (ICAR-CIRB), Hisar, organized a 'Swachhata Samvad' on September 24, 2026. This program was part of the 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2026' campaign, conducted under the theme 'Participation in Cleanliness – Clean India, Developed India.'

The primary objective of this initiative was to increase awareness regarding cleanliness among contractual employees and Young Professionals (YPs), encouraging them to become active participants in maintaining a clean workplace. The activity was organized as part of the campaign's eighth-day action plan, which aimed to enhance participation in cleanliness initiatives and facilitate discussions on effective waste management.

Approximately 20 participants took part in this interactive program. Rather than following a traditional lecture format, the event adopted a discussion-based approach, allowing participants to share their experiences and suggestions related to cleanliness at their homes and workplaces. The discussions primarily emphasized the prevention of littering, responsible waste disposal, minimizing the use of plastic, waste segregation, and the adoption of better sanitation practices.

During the dialogue, it was concluded that cleanliness is not limited merely to cleaning but is a shared social responsibility that requires continuous behavioral change. Participants discussed creating a healthier environment through simple measures, such as avoiding littering and reducing the unnecessary use of plastic. The program concluded with a collective commitment from the participants to promote cleanliness and sustainable habits within their surroundings.
