Madhya Pradesh: Central Narcotics Bureau Seizes 4.240 kg of Opium, One Person Arrested
The Madhya Pradesh unit of the Central Narcotics Bureau (CBN) has recovered 4.240 kg of opium and arrested a smuggler during an operation on the Kanjarda-Mansa road.

The Madhya Pradesh unit of the Central Narcotics Bureau (CBN) has achieved a significant success as part of its ongoing crackdown against narcotics. On September 30, 2026, acting on specific intelligence, officials intercepted and searched a suspicious motorcycle on the Kanjarda-Mansa road, leading to the recovery of a total of 4.240 kg of opium.
Information had been received that an individual riding a Hero Glamour motorcycle with a Neemuch registration was transporting approximately 4 to 5 kg of opium from Kanjarda toward Mansa. Following this tip-off, a team of officers from the P&I Cell of CBN Mandsaur was deployed along the suspected route. The team maintained surveillance and, upon identifying the suspicious motorcycle, stopped and searched it, discovering 4.240 kg of opium packed in two packets.
After completing the necessary legal formalities, the recovered opium and the Hero Glamour motorcycle used for smuggling were seized under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. One person has been arrested in connection with the case.
The Central Narcotics Bureau stated that further investigations are underway to identify other individuals linked to the smuggling network and to determine the source and destination of the illegal contraband. The Bureau reaffirmed its commitment to preventing the smuggling and abuse of narcotics and working toward a drug-free India.
