Maharashtra's Hemlata Kharatmal Builds Business with Government Loan to Become Self-Reliant

Mrs. Hemlata Dilip Kharatmal, a resident of Kalwa in Thane, Maharashtra, has achieved success in the field of entrepreneurship despite facing adverse circumstances. Following the death of her husband, the entire responsibility of raising her two children and securing their future fell upon Mrs. Kharatmal. During this difficult period, she resolved to become the pillar of support for her family and ensure her children received a quality education.

Through a local social worker, she learned about the term loan scheme offered by the National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation. Subsequently, she applied for financial assistance through the LIDCOM office. On November 25, 2024, she received a loan of 3.75 lakh rupees, which she used to start a fish-selling business on Pokhran Road in Thane.

Through hard work and dedication, Mrs. Kharatmal has turned this business into a reliable source of livelihood. She is currently earning a net monthly income of approximately 40,000 to 50,000 rupees. With this income, she is not only meeting her family's needs but has also become capable of improving her children's education and overall standard of living.

Expressing her satisfaction with the support provided by the National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation, Mrs. Hemlata Kharatmal stated, “This financial assistance gave me the opportunity to stand on my own feet and become a support for my children. Through hard work, I have succeeded in establishing a stable livelihood and I now look toward their future with confidence.”
