Ministry of Women and Child Development Prepares for Sixth Phase of Special Campaign

The Ministry of Women and Child Development has begun preparations for the implementation of the sixth phase of the Special Campaign. During this upcoming phase, special emphasis will be placed on ensuring active participation, measurable outcomes, and long-term impact across all offices and institutions of the Ministry. The Ministry is streamlining its activities in alignment with the designated key parameters and goals of the campaign. Mr. Anil Malik, Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, has urged all offices to participate in this campaign with enthusiasm and proactiveness.

Reviewing the achievements of the fifth phase of the Special Campaign, it is noted that this phase ran from October 2 to October 31, 2025, and continued from November 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026. During this period, comprehensive activities were organized for cleanliness, records management, and the disposal of pending references. The Ministry conducted a total of 1,95,620 cleanliness drives across the country, including at Anganwadi centers, child care institutions, One Stop Centers, Sakhi Niwas, and Shakti Sadan. These efforts resulted in the freeing up of 26,506 square feet of office space and generated revenue of 14,29,703 rupees from the disposal of scrap and e-waste.

Under records management, 6,267 physical files and 3,874 e-files were reviewed, of which 3,591 e-files were closed. Additionally, the Ministry disposed of 35 Member of Parliament (MP) references, 11 parliamentary assurances, and 28 state government references. Furthermore, 10,126 public grievances and 1,877 grievance appeals were resolved.

As a significant initiative, the Ministry utilized the Poshan Tracker database to prepare a list of potential beneficiaries for the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) to further simplify the process of obtaining benefits for eligible beneficiaries.

For monitoring and review during the fifth phase, senior officials visited various centers. The Minister for Women and Child Development visited offices located at Shastri Bhawan, Jeevan Vihar, and the Jeevan Tara building in New Delhi. Meanwhile, the Additional Secretary of the Department of Women and Child Development and the Director of the Savitribai Phule National Institute of Women and Child Development (SPNIWCD) inspected the regional center in Lucknow to review the progress.
