PM Narendra Modi Shares Sanskrit Subhashitam on Importance of Good Character and Virtue
Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that intelligence and eloquence are insufficient for greatness without the foundation of good character and virtue.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has highlighted the significance of good character and virtue by sharing a Sanskrit Subhashitam. The Prime Minister posted the verse on the social media platform 'X'.
The shared Subhashitam states: “ज्ञानवांश्च तथा वाग्मि कर्मस्वपि च निश्चितः। एवं युक्तोऽपि न श्रेयान् यदि शीलविवर्जितः॥”
The meaning of this Sanskrit shloka is that a person who is intelligent, skilled in the art of speaking (eloquent), and determined in their actions cannot be called great if they are devoid of good character and virtue. According to the Prime Minister's message, a person is truly considered superior only when they possess intelligence and skill combined with good character and moral conduct.
