Special Campaign 6: Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Completes Preparations with Goal to Dispose of Over 11,000 Files
The MoPSW has concluded the preparatory phase of Special Campaign 6 aimed at cleaning government offices and settling pending tasks, with implementation starting October 2.
New Delhi, September 29, 2026: The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) and its affiliated organizations have completed comprehensive preparations for 'Special Campaign 6', the sixth edition of the Government of India's nationwide initiative. The primary objective of this campaign is to ensure the cleanliness of government offices, the disposal of pending tasks, the systematic management of old files, and the improvement of institutional efficiency.
The preparatory phase of the campaign ran from September 15 to September 30, 2026. The implementation phase will now be carried out from October 2 to October 31, 2026. The Secretary of MoPSW held a review meeting with the heads of the ministry and organizations, as well as nodal officers, during which he emphasized timely action, cleanliness, the resolution of pending cases, the effective management of e-waste, and the proper documentation of activities.
During the preparation stage, the ministry identified several critical targets, including MP references, state government references, inter-ministerial communications, parliamentary assurances, Prime Minister's Office (PMO) references, public grievances, and government appeals. Additionally, 185 cleanliness drives, 6,605 physical files, and 4,548 e-files have been earmarked for review and disposal. Furthermore, 5,624 e-waste items have been identified for disposal in accordance with the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022.
According to the national framework of the campaign, an evaluation phase has been scheduled from November 16 to November 30, 2026, to assess the outcomes and identify best practices. Through this campaign, MoPSW aims to strive toward environmental responsibility, efficient record management, and responsive governance.
Alongside the preparations for Special Campaign 6, the ministry and its organizations are also observing 'Swachhata Pakhwada' from September 16 to September 30, 2026. Activities under this fortnight include Shramdaan, cleaning of public spaces, renovation of toilets, plantation drives, 'Swachhata Rath' rallies, and the elimination of single-use plastics.
