Two-Day National Conference on 'Rabi Campaign 2026' to Begin Tomorrow in New Delhi
The Central Government will organize a national agricultural conference in New Delhi on September 28-29 to prepare for the upcoming Rabi season and boost agricultural production.
The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, is organizing a National Agricultural Conference for 'Rabi Campaign 2026'. This two-day conference will take place on September 28 and 29, 2026, at the Bharat Ratna C. Subramaniam Auditorium located within the NASC complex in Pusa, New Delhi. The conference will be inaugurated by the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The primary objective of this conference is to strengthen coordination between the Center and the states and to formulate a coordinated, result-oriented strategy to increase agricultural production, productivity, sustainability, and farmers' income. The event will be attended by state agriculture ministers, senior officials from central and state governments, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), and other relevant stakeholders. The discussions will also be based on the findings from recently concluded regional agricultural conferences.
On the first day of the conference, parallel thematic group discussions will be held focusing on three key areas: self-reliance, diversification, and production growth; sustainability and climate-resilient agriculture; and digital agriculture, infrastructure, financing, and risk management. Key issues for discussion will include the self-reliance mission for pulses, oilseeds, and oil palm, the availability of seeds, natural farming, soil health, agricultural mechanization, financing for FPOs, PM Dhan-Dhanya Agriculture Scheme, Kisan Credit Card coverage, and the PM Fasal Bima Yojana.
The second day's session will focus on weather forecasting, the availability and balanced use of fertilizers, the Digital Agriculture Mission, the farmer registry, digital crop surveys, and AgriStack. Additionally, deliberations will be held on the National Mission on Edible Oils, self-reliance in pulses, and marketing reforms. State agriculture ministers will have the opportunity to share their priorities and suggestions regarding preparations for the Rabi season.
In the closing session of the conference, a summary of all discussions will be presented to prepare a robust action plan for increasing the production of Rabi crops and empowering farmers, ensuring food and nutritional security while realizing the vision of 'Self-reliance and Developed India'.
