Union Minister of State Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani Addresses 20th Rozgar Mela in Chennai, Urges New Employees to Prioritize Public Service

Union Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani addressed the 20th Rozgar Mela held in Chennai. On this occasion, he congratulated the newly appointed government employees and their families, urging them to serve the public with integrity, sensitivity, responsibility, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Dr. Pemmasani stated that under the nationwide Rozgar Mela initiative, appointment letters have been provided to more than 51,000 candidates across the country. Through this initiative, approximately 12.75 lakh youth have received appointment letters so far. He encouraged the new employees to seek guidance from experienced colleagues and to make effective use of digital learning resources and AI tools.

Discussing the human aspect of government service, the Minister remarked that employees should not lose sight of their purpose amidst administrative tasks. He emphasized that a file which may seem like a routine task to a government employee could represent a critical aspect of a citizen's life. He advised employees to question prevailing working methods and verify facts to ensure that incorrect processes are not followed simply in the name of tradition.

Referring to the changes brought about under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi since 2014, Dr. Pemmasani noted that India's mobile manufacturing ecosystem has grown from just two units in 2014-15 to nearly 300 units today. He highlighted improvements in infrastructure, such as the expansion of national highways, railway electrification, Vande Bharat trains, and the redevelopment of stations.

Mentioning achievements in the defense sector, he stated that India's defense exports have increased from approximately 600 crore rupees in 2013-14 to nearly 30,000 crore rupees in 2025-26. He called upon the young employees to identify the challenges faced by citizens and find solutions through technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Concluding his address, Dr. Pemmasani advised the employees to remember three things during their service: the citizens, their families, and their own youthful selves. Looking toward the goal of 2047, he urged the employees to engage in constant self-reflection to ensure they are living up to the trust placed in them by the country and its citizens.
