Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan Addresses Platinum Jubilee Celebration of Gordhandas Seksaria College at Kaivalyadhama

Vice President Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan addressed the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Gordhandas Seksaria College of Yoga and Cultural Synthesis at Kaivalyadhama in Lonavala, Maharashtra. On this occasion, he congratulated the college for completing 75 years of dedicated service toward yoga education, research, and cultural synthesis. The Vice President noted that this is a significant milestone as Kaivalyadhama has completed a century of dedicated service in the field of yoga.

Recalling the contributions of Swami Kuvalayananda, who founded Kaivalyadhama in 1924, the Vice President stated that he initiated the scientific study of yoga at a time when it was primarily viewed as a mystical practice. He emphasized the importance of preserving the legacy of the past and passing it on to future generations, stating, "Yoga is not for one generation; it is for every generation to come."

Referring to the global acceptance of yoga, Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan praised the efforts of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in spreading yoga internationally. He remarked that in the current era, life has become very fast-paced due to technological advancements and digital connectivity; in such times, yoga provides an opportunity to pause, focus, and reconnect with oneself. He explained that yoga bridges the gap between the mind and body, promoting overall physical and mental well-being.

Addressing the youth, the Vice President said that the youth of India possess immense energy and talent, which can be transformed into full potential through discipline and awareness. Discussing Patanjali's concept of 'stopping the fluctuations of the mind' (chittavrutti), he mentioned that the ability to keep the mind calm is extremely relevant in this age of information overload.

During the event, the Vice President also released the book "Yoga Explained - Learn from the Master," written by Shri O.P. Tiwari. He toured the campus, interacted with students, and inspired them to develop discipline and self-awareness through yoga. He expressed his respect for the vision of Swami Kuvalayananda and the contributions of Seth Makhanlal Seksaria.

The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including the Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Jishnu Dev Verma, former Union Minister and Chairman of Kaivalyadhama Global, Shri Suresh Prabhu, CEO Shri Subodh Tiwari, and Chief Patron Shri Rakesh Seksaria, along with numerous teachers and students.
