Viksit Bharat Abhiyan: Over 2.5 Lakh Youth Pledge Drug-Free Life Through 'Mera Swasthya, Mera Garv' Initiative

As part of the 'Drug-Free Youth' initiative under the Viksit Bharat Abhiyan, 'Mera Swasthya, Mera Garv' (My Health, My Pride) activities were organized across the country. This campaign by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports was implemented by 'MY Bharat' and its partner organizations, with programs held in more than 400 locations nationwide. Over 2.5 lakh youth and citizens actively participated in these activities.

The primary objective of this nationwide initiative was to promote physical and mental health among the youth and spread awareness regarding the harmful effects of substance abuse. Through these programs, participants were made aware of the importance of adopting a healthy and positive lifestyle.

During the campaign, health check-up camps, discussion sessions with health experts, and meditation sessions were organized at various locations. These health-centric activities made the youth aware of their physical health, while the sessions with experts provided them with an opportunity to connect with health professionals and understand the importance of preventive health management and informed decision-making.

Emphasizing mental health, the meditation and wellness sessions encouraged participants to adopt a positive outlook to face daily challenges. At several locations, a 'Drug-Free Youth Pledge' was administered, where participants committed to living a healthy and addiction-free life.

The 'Drug-Free Youth' initiative of the Viksit Bharat Abhiyan aims to continuously inspire young people through awareness, prevention, and community participation. The 'Mera Swasthya, Mera Garv' activities emphasize that physical health, mental well-being, and correct decision-making are the essential foundations for building a drug-free society.
