WindEnergy India 2026 to be held in Chennai, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi to Inaugurate
The 8th edition of India's premier wind energy event, 'WindEnergy India', will be held in Chennai from October 7 to 9, 2026.

Mr. Pralhad Joshi, Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Education, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, will inaugurate the 8th edition of the 'WindEnergy India' conference at the Chennai Trade Centre on October 8, 2026. This event stands as one of India's leading wind energy-focused gatherings.
The opening ceremony of the three-day event will be attended by Mr. Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy and Power, and Thiru C.T.R. Nirmala Kumar, Minister for Energy Resources and Law for the Government of Tamil Nadu. Senior officials from both the central and state governments, along with wind energy associations and industry leaders, will also be present. Global Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be announced during the ceremony, key sector reports will be released, and states demonstrating excellence in wind energy will be honored.
According to data regarding India's wind energy capacity, a record 6.05 GW of wind energy was produced in the 2025-26 financial year, bringing the total capacity to 58.52 GW by August 2026. Currently, work is underway to achieve an additional 28 GW capacity, which will support the goal of reaching 100 GW by the year 2030.
Under 'WindEnergy India 2026', a three-day trade fair from October 7 to 9 will be organized, featuring a two-day conference, technical sessions, round-table discussions, live demonstrations, B2B and B2G meetings, and academic sessions. Approximately 400 global exhibitors and 500 delegates from more than 20 countries will participate in this global event. Special country pavilions from Denmark, Germany, and Spain will be major highlights of the program.
The conference will place special emphasis on domestic value addition, advanced turbine platforms, heavy-duty gearboxes, AI-based operation and maintenance (O&M), and offshore wind capabilities. Additionally, high-level discussions will be held on manufacturing competitiveness and new dimensions of offshore wind energy.
The event is being organized by the 'Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association' (IWTMA) and 'PDA Ventures Private Limited' in collaboration with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the Ministry of Power.
