Yuva Sangam: Telangana Student Delegation Explores Cultural Heritage and Traditions of Assam
Under the Ministry of Education's 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' initiative, youth from Telangana visited Assam during the seventh phase of Yuva Sangam to experience the region's rich culture.

The Department of Higher Education, under the Ministry of Education, has organized the seventh phase of 'Yuva Sangam' as part of the 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' initiative. The primary objective of this program is to strengthen the cultural and emotional bonds among the youth of India. This initiative provides young participants with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the cultural heritage, traditions, education systems, and development achievements of various states and union territories. The program promotes national unity and mutual understanding through 20 pairs of states and higher education institutions.
As part of this program, a delegation from Telangana, led by the Central University of Karnataka, arrived in Guwahati on October 4, 2026, where they were welcomed by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati.
The delegation's schedule began on October 5, 2026, with a yoga session, through which the youth experienced India's traditional knowledge and awareness regarding health. On the same day, the representatives from Telangana met with the Governor of Assam, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya. During this interaction, the youth gained detailed information about the rich heritage, traditions, and cultural significance of Assam. This dialogue helped them understand the country's cultural diversity and the importance of mutual relationships among the youth.
This exchange program between Telangana and Assam encourages young Indians to connect with communities outside their own states and develop a deeper understanding of India's shared cultural heritage. Such programs provide youth with the opportunity to learn new things and strengthen the bond of unity in diversity, contributing to the broader vision of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'.
