Department of Fertilizers Prepares for 'Special Campaign 6' Focused on Cleanliness and E-Waste Management
The Department of Fertilizers, Government of India, will conduct 'Special Campaign 6' from October 2 to October 31, 2026, to institutionalize cleanliness in offices and settle pending matters.

In accordance with the guidelines issued by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Government of India, 'Special Campaign 6' will be organized from October 2 to October 31, 2026. The initiative aims to institutionalize cleanliness across government offices and reduce the volume of pending cases. The primary objective of the campaign is to improve the cleanliness of government offices and enhance the experience of the general public. Particular focus will be placed on the effective collection, segregation, and disposal of e-waste during this period.
The campaign will be implemented by the Department of Fertilizers, its subordinate offices, and public sector undertakings within the fertilizer sector. Under this initiative, old physical files and e-files will be reviewed, and useless files will be weeded out according to the record retention schedule. Additionally, efforts will be directed toward the disposal of public grievances, references received from VIPs and Members of Parliament, the digitization of records, and the disposal of scrap materials to improve office efficiency and space management.
Prior to this campaign, the Department of Fertilizers and its associated units observed 'Swachhata Pakhwada' from September 1 to September 15, 2026, which included programs such as cleanliness pledges, Shramdaan (voluntary labor), and essay competitions led by the Secretary. Currently, the 'Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2026' is also being conducted from September 17 to October 2, 2026. This campaign is being organized under the guidelines of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) of the Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).
On September 22, 2026, a video conferencing meeting was held with fertilizer companies under the chairmanship of the Senior Economic Advisor of the Department of Fertilizers. The meeting reviewed the progress of the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign and emphasized initiatives such as "Waste to Art," "Sports and Sportsmanship," and "Gyan Yatra."
The progress of 'Special Campaign 6' will be monitored through the dedicated portal of the DARPG, and the Department of Fertilizers will regularly upload information on the SCDPM portal.
