ITRA Jamnagar's Special Initiative for 11th Ayurveda Day Benefits Over 2,500 People through Health and Awareness Programs
The Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA) in Jamnagar has organized a month-long series of healthcare, nutrition, and scientific research activities to mark the 11th Ayurveda Day.

The Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA), located in Jamnagar, Gujarat, is organizing a month-long series of public awareness, healthcare, research, and scientific activities to commemorate the 11th Ayurveda Day. The primary focus of these programs is on Ayurveda, healthy lifestyles, nutrition, preventive healthcare, and scientific research.
These activities are being conducted under the guidance of Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Ayush, and Padma Shri Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, through the efforts of Professor Dr. Tanuja Nesari, Director of ITRA. So far, at least 2,577 people have benefited from this campaign.
The series of programs includes health check-up camps, medical camps, nutrition awareness programs, and specialized health services for senior citizens. These activities have been carried out in schools, Anganwadis, old age homes, girls' homes, educational institutions, industrial areas, and armed forces establishments. Specifically, from September 7 to 22, health awareness programs were conducted in institutions including the Army, Air Force, Navy, and CISF establishments. Additionally, street plays were performed at 11 public locations to raise awareness about Ayurvedic diets.
On a scientific and academic level, ITRA has organized research presentations, laboratory quality control training, Quaxcel Connect demonstrations, a microbiome workshop, and Kayaprabodhini webinars. To increase youth participation, several initiatives are being held, including the 'Ancient Staple, Modern Plate' reel competition, Youth Parliament, Student Ambassador program, national essay and e-poster competitions, Run for Ayurveda, a MasterChef cooking competition, and a seminar on digital communication.
Professor Dr. Tanuja Nesari, Director of ITRA, stated that the objective of this campaign is to bring together health, nutrition, research, education, environment, and youth participation to promote Ayurveda as a holistic and preventive approach to health.
