Department of Rural Development Organizes Poetry Recitation Competition as Part of Hindi Pakhwada-2026
Officials and employees of the department recited self-composed poems during a competition held at Kartavya Bhavan in New Delhi.
The Department of Rural Development is organizing various competitions on the occasion of Hindi Pakhwada-2026. As part of this series, a poetry recitation competition was held at the Unnati Conference Hall in Kartavya Bhavan-3, New Delhi.
Numerous officers and employees of the department participated enthusiastically in the competition, reciting their own original poems. The program was conducted by Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Deputy Director of the Official Language Division. Also present on the occasion were Mr. Altaf Hussain Haji, Deputy Director General of the Official Language Division, and Mr. Ram Chandra, Deputy Secretary. Mr. Pawan Kumar, IAS, Director of the Rural Skills Division and a senior poet and writer, delivered a poetry presentation as a special invited guest.
A three-member jury was appointed to evaluate the poems presented in the competition. The panel included poet and journalist Mr. Raj Kaushik, Mr. Deep Shekhar Singhal, Deputy General Manager of the National Highways Authority of India, and Mrs. Diksha Supyal Bisht, Assistant Commissioner of the Rural Employment Division. Following the conclusion of the recitations, the jury announced the names of the winners.
According to the department, such competitions organized under Hindi Pakhwada-2026 encourage creativity and interest in the official language Hindi among officers and employees, while also promoting the use of Hindi in official office work.
