MY Bharat, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, organized marches for a drug-free youth at more than 150 locations across the country, with massive participation from youth and dignitaries.

Under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, 'MY Bharat' and its partner organizations organized a nationwide padyatra (march) on October 4, 2026, as part of the 'Drug-Free Youth for Developed India' campaign. Programs were held at more than 150 locations across the country, with over 1 lakh youth and citizens participating enthusiastically.
The primary objective of this nationwide initiative was to raise awareness among youth and society regarding the harmful effects of substance abuse and to promote a healthy and responsible lifestyle. The program aimed to send a message of collective responsibility for building a drug-free society by uniting youth, citizens, public representatives, and partner organizations.
During the event, participants engaged in various activities, including walks ranging from 3 to 5 kilometers, street plays (nukkad natak), slogan writing, and heritage walks. These activities were designed to spread awareness about the dangers of addiction through community participation in public spaces and to inspire young people to adopt a healthy way of living.
A significant highlight of the event was the 'Drug-Free Youth Pledge.' Through this, participants vowed to stay away from substance abuse and contribute to the creation of a conscious and drug-free society.
To provide broad recognition to the campaign, several dignitaries and public representatives were present. These included two Lieutenant Governors, one Cabinet Minister, eight Members of Parliament, and eight Members of the Legislative Assembly.
The 'Walk for Drug-Free Youth' program is a part of the larger 'Drug-Free Youth for Developed India' campaign. The overall goal of the campaign is to unite youth and society against drug addiction through continuous awareness and collective efforts, ensuring that the youth can actively contribute to the construction of a healthy and strong India.
