Indian Navy's INS Trishul Visits Alexandria Port in Egypt, Participates in Joint Exercises
The Indian Navy's guided missile frigate INS Trishul visited the port of Alexandria, Egypt, as part of its operational deployment and participated in 'Passage Exercises'.

As part of its operational deployment, the Indian Navy's guided missile frigate INS Trishul visited the port of Alexandria in Egypt from September 14 to 17, 2026. Upon arrival at the port, the INS Trishul was welcomed by the Egyptian naval vessel 'Al Qadir'.
During the visit, the Commanding Officer and crew of INS Trishul visited the Chatby War Memorial, where they paid tribute to the brave soldiers who were martyred during both World Wars. Notably, this war memorial contains the graves of 12 soldiers and records the names of 19 Indian soldiers who lost their lives on ships sunk in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Suresh K. Reddy, the Ambassador of India to Egypt, visited INS Trishul and interacted with the crew members. On this occasion, he emphasized the significance of the Indian Navy's presence in the region.
Under its operational activities, INS Trishul participated in 'Passage Exercise' (PASSEX) with the Egyptian naval vessel ENS Bernice. This exercise included activities such as coordinated maneuvers between the two navies, communication drills, and contact maneuvers for refueling at sea. This joint exercise provided an opportunity for personnel from both navies to share their professional expertise and enhance mutual engagement.
This port visit and the joint exercise are expected to further strengthen the long-standing friendly relations between the Indian Navy and the Egyptian Navy, promoting maritime cooperation and mutual partnership between the two nations.
