Legislative Department Organizes Workshop on E-Waste Management Under 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2026' Campaign

As part of the nationwide 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2026' campaign, the Legislative Department of the Ministry of Law and Justice organized an e-waste workshop on September 23, 2026, at the Conference Hall of Kartavya Bhavan-2 in New Delhi. The session was led by Mr. G. Panmei, Joint Secretary and Legislative Consultant, with active participation from senior officials and staff members of the department.

Through this interactive workshop, participants were provided with detailed information regarding the serious challenges and growing concerns associated with electronic waste (e-waste). Experts discussed the lifecycle of electronic devices used in offices, such as computers, printers, cables, and mobile phones. Special emphasis was placed on the fact that these devices should not be disposed of in regular waste bins.

Clarifying the objectives of the workshop, Mr. G. Panmei appealed to all officers and employees to use only authorized channels for the proper segregation, safe collection, and recycling of obsolete electronic items. He highlighted the importance of responsible e-waste management in contributing to environmental protection and emphasized promoting resource recovery and reuse to reduce environmental pollution.
