Narendra Bhushan Assumes Charge as Secretary of Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change
Narendra Bhushan, a 1992-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as the Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.

Mr. Narendra Bhushan, a 1992-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, has assumed the charge of Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Secretary in the Department of Land Resources under the Ministry of Rural Development.
Mr. Narendra Bhushan possesses over three decades of administrative experience across both central and state governments. He has extensive experience working in diverse sectors, including energy, infrastructure, industry, agriculture, urban development, finance, and land resource management.
During his career serving in the Uttar Pradesh cadre, Mr. Bhushan has held several key responsibilities. He has served as the Additional Chief Secretary in the Department of Energy and the Department of Additional Energy Sources and Technical Education. Furthermore, he held the position of Principal Secretary in the departments of PWD, Infrastructure and Industrial Development, IT and Electronics, Science and Technology, and Panchayati Raj. He has also served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Greater Noida Authority.
Regarding field experience, Mr. Bhushan has served as the District Magistrate of Mathura, Firozabad, and Udham Singh Nagar. At the central government level, he has worked as the Deputy Director General in the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Mission Director in National Food Security Management, and Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation. Additionally, he served as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
In terms of academic qualifications, Mr. Bhushan holds a bachelor's degree in Electronics and a master's degree in International Development Policy from Duke University in the United States. His professional training includes programs related to public finance, infrastructure, and climate change.
