Prime Minister's Memorabilia E-Auction 2026: A Convergence of Gujarat's Cultural Heritage and Modern Achievements

The 8th edition of the Prime Minister's Memorabilia E-Auction 2026, organized by the Ministry of Culture, is featuring a diverse collection of Gujarat's rich cultural heritage, traditional arts, crafts, and modern achievements. This collection highlights the state's cultural identity and its contributions to modern India.

The Gujarat collection includes memorabilia related to architectural heritage, traditional textile arts, indigenous painting, sporting achievements, and technological progress. Notable items include an architectural depiction of the 17th-century Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple in Vadnagar, a commemorative item presented by international table tennis player Manav Thakkar, and a traditional 'Mata-ni-Pachedi' textile painting depicting the Tree of Life. Additionally, Pithora paintings from the Rathwa, Bhil, and Bhilala communities of Central Gujarat and India's first solar tile with an engraving of the Modhera Sun Temple are on display.

Other significant items in the auction include idols of the Ambaji Temple, Somnath Temple, and Dwarkadhish Ji, traditional Bhujodi shawls, Lippan art, a replica model of AIIMS Rajkot, a wooden memorabilia of the Adalaj Stepwell, and a semiconductor plaque titled "Charkha to Chips" from Tata Electronics.

This 8th edition of the Prime Minister's Memorabilia E-Auction commenced on September 17, 2026, featuring a total of 1,498 memorabilia from across India. The auction is being conducted through the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) in New Delhi, providing citizens, collectors, and art enthusiasts an opportunity to acquire unique items presented to the Prime Minister.

All proceeds from this e-auction will support the 'Namami Gange' program, a national mission dedicated to the conservation and rejuvenation of the Ganges River and its ecosystem. Since its inception in January 2019, this initiative has raised over 50 crore rupees for the Namami Gange project through its previous editions. The auction is being operated online via the official portal.
