Consultation Meeting on National Cooperative Training Framework (NCTF) 2026 Held in New Delhi
The Ministry of Cooperation organized a national-level agenda-setting meeting on NCTF 2026 to strengthen the human resource ecosystem of the cooperative sector.
In a move toward realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of "Sahkar se Samriddhi" (Prosperity through Cooperation) and making the cooperative sector modern and professional, a national-level agenda-setting consultation meeting on the National Cooperative Training Framework (NCTF) 2026 was held on September 24, 2026, at the Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan in New Delhi. The meeting was organized by the Tribhuvan Cooperative University (TSU) in collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India.
The consultation meeting was inaugurated by the Minister of State for Cooperation, Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar. On this occasion, he clarified that the primary objective of cooperative training should not merely be to increase the number of training programs, but to improve their quality and outcomes. He emphasized that institutional capacities should be strengthened and professional competencies increased through training so that cooperative institutions and their members can achieve better results.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Cooperation and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, as well as representatives from various states and union territories. Additionally, representatives from national-level cooperative federations, state cooperative unions, cooperative training institutes, universities, and regional development organizations were present.
Highlighting the importance of the NCTF, Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan Cooperative University, Prof. (Dr.) S.P. Singh, stated that it is essential to develop a shared framework aligned with future requirements. He noted that this would ensure coordination, quality, accessibility, and continuity while meeting the diverse needs of different states.
This meeting was the first of two proposed national-level consultation meetings under the NCTF process. According to the upcoming plan, five regional-level consultation meetings will now be organized covering North, South, East, West, and Northeast India.
