Department of Social Justice and Empowerment Organizes 'Swachhata se Sabhyata' Awareness Session

The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, organized a special awareness session titled 'Swachhata se Sabhyata' (Cleanliness to Civilization) in collaboration with Brahma Kumaris. The event took place at the 'Manan' conference room of the Ministry in New Delhi. This program was conducted under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026', which focuses on public participation and is being implemented across the country from September 17 to October 2.

During the event, Sister Vidyathi of Brahma Kumaris addressed the attending officers and employees. She discussed the connection between internal values and the cleanliness of one's surroundings. Using the principle of 'As the state, so the arrangement,' Sister Vidyathi explained that an individual's state of mind determines the organization and cleanliness of their home, workplace, and society.

Referencing the proverb 'Cleanliness is next to Godliness,' she encouraged participants to adopt cleanliness not only as a civic responsibility but also as a habit of self-respect and internal purity. She emphasized that sustainable physical cleanliness is only possible when there is cleanliness in thoughts, speech, and conduct. Additionally, she stressed the importance of respect for nature, social sensitivity, and living a simple life.

During the session, Sister Vidyathi highlighted recycling as a practical habit that aids in the responsible use of resources and better waste management. At the conclusion of the program, the department's officers and employees reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining cleanliness in their workplaces and communities throughout the year.
