Approximately 68 percent of indigenous content will be used in this project, which will promote the active participation of various Indian industries, including Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Additionally, the project is expected to create new employment opportunities over the next three years. This move advances the efforts toward the indigenization of advanced military technology while strengthening India's maritime security framework and defense capabilities.
The BrahMos system, deployed on various frontline warships of the Navy, is an outstanding example of a primary surface-to-surface missile (SSM) operational system for maritime attacks. Due to its supersonic speed and precision targeting capabilities, the system is able to target objectives on both land and sea over an extended range.
