Ministry of Railways to Launch 'Special Campaign 6' Focusing on Pending Cases and Cleanliness
Under the central government's Special Campaign 6, the Ministry of Railways is preparing to reduce pending cases in government offices and institutionalize cleanliness.

The Central Government has launched 'Special Campaign 6' (SCDPM 6) to dispose of pending matters in government offices and institutionalize cleanliness. The Ministry of Railways has completed all preparations across its regional units, affiliated and subordinate offices, public sector undertakings, and autonomous bodies for the successful implementation of this campaign.
The campaign will be organized in two phases. The first phase will run from September 15 to September 30, 2026, during which targets will be determined. Subsequently, the main implementation phase will take place from October 2 to October 31, 2026.
During the previous Special Campaign 5.0, the Ministry of Railways achieved 100% of its targets regarding the resolution of public grievances, VIP matters, and other pending cases. During that period, the ministry utilized 6.06 lakh square feet of space and generated revenue amounting to 570 crore rupees.
To ensure the effective operation of the campaign, more than 150 nodal officers have been designated within Indian Railways. These officers will send daily progress reports to the Railway Board, which will be recorded directly on the central SCDPM monitoring portal of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG). This will enable real-time monitoring and weekly high-level reviews.
This year's campaign will place special emphasis on the effective collection and disposal of e-waste in accordance with the E-Waste (Management) Rules 2022, the disposal of scrap under General Financial Rules (GFR), the beautification of office premises, the simplification of rules, and the disposal of pending cases.
To strengthen public participation, the ministry will organize 'Rail Jan Samvad' during the campaign. The Secretary of the Railway Board has issued letters to all General Managers and heads of units, instructing them to ensure comprehensive participation.
