MSME Ministry to Launch 'Special Campaign 6.0' for Cleanliness and Resolution of Pending Matters

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), under the guidance of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), is preparing to organize 'Special Campaign 6.0' from October 2 to 31, 2026. The primary objective of this campaign is to ensure cleanliness in government offices and improve the experiences of citizens.

In this upcoming edition, special emphasis has been placed on the effective collection, segregation, and disposal of e-waste in accordance with the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022. The campaign will focus on the Ministry, its associated and subordinate offices, autonomous bodies, public sector undertakings, and regional offices.

The campaign is divided into two phases. The first is the preparatory phase, running from September 15 to 30, 2026, during which ground-level offices are being sensitized and action plans are being formulated. The second is the implementation phase, which will take place from October 2 to 31, 2026. During this period, activities will include cleanliness drives, e-waste disposal, digitalization, weeding out of records, and space management, along with the resolution of pending Member of Parliament (MP) references, state government references, parliamentary assurances, Prime Minister's Office (PMO) references, and public grievances.

The Ministry has achieved significant milestones in previous campaigns. Under Special Campaign 5.0, the Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME), Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Coir Board, National Small Industries Corporation, National Institute of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrialization Institute collectively reviewed 23,162 physical files and weeded out 4,280 files. During this period, 21,045 square feet of office space was vacated, and scrap worth 22.89 lakh rupees was disposed of. Additionally, through 1,045 cleanliness drives, 99 percent of public grievances and over 81 percent of MP references were resolved.

Following the directives of the DARPG, between November 2025 and September 2026, the Ministry disposed of 22,365 public grievances, 4,850 public grievance appeals, and 226 MP references. During this time, approximately 1,167 square feet of space was freed by removing 626 physical documents and 127 e-files. To increase awareness, officials also organized programs such as a workshop at the NSIC branch office in Guwahati and a plantation drive at the DFO branch office in Aurangabad.
