Third National Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility (NCCSR 2026) Inaugurated in New Delhi
Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Satish Chandra Dubey, inaugurated NCCSR 2026, emphasizing the shift of CSR from 'compliance to commitment' for a developed India.

Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Mr. Satish Chandra Dubey, inaugurated the Third National Conference and Exhibition on Corporate Social Responsibility (NCCSR 2026) in New Delhi. Organized by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the two-day conference was held on October 6 and 7, 2026. The theme for this year's conference was “Re-envisioning the Spirit of CSR for Viksit Bharat: From Compliance to Commitment.”
In his address, Minister of State Satish Chandra Dubey emphasized the link between national economic growth and the welfare of communities in resource-rich regions. He stated that economic progress is truly meaningful only when its benefits are reflected in empowered communities, expanded opportunities, and strengthened regions. On this occasion, he released a comprehensive CSR framework for Indian coal companies, aimed at guiding more systematic and result-oriented CSR initiatives within the coal sector.
The 'India CSR Factbook 2024–25' was also released during the inaugural session. Dr. Pallavi Jain Govil, Secretary of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, described CSR as a crucial form of collective effort necessary for a developed India. She called upon stakeholders not to limit themselves to annual obligations but to make responsible contributions to the country's development journey.
Mr. Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, Director General and CEO of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), highlighted the need to focus on the direct outcomes of CSR in his welcome address. Various sessions were organized during the conference, featuring discussions on the role of the 'Social Stock Exchange' and the corporate governance of boards of directors regarding CSR. Mr. Anshuman Patnaik, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, urged companies to register on the CSR Exchange Portal.
The conference also included several panel discussions, where participants deliberated on adopting area-based approaches aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and strengthening monitoring mechanisms. The event was attended by senior representatives from the Government of India, public sector enterprises, private companies, international organizations, and academics.
