Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Suspends Marketing Officer Over Bribery Allegations

Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has taken stern action against corruption by suspending Marketing Officer Anurag of the Ministry of Agriculture with immediate effect. This action follows complaints that the officer had demanded bribes to facilitate government payments.

According to available information, the Marketing Officer demanded bribes from two warehouses in the Sehore district for the release of subsidy amounts during an inspection. The complaint specified that a bribe of 1 lakh rupees was demanded from Shivay Warehouse in Bhairunda tehsil, and 60 thousand rupees were demanded from Shri Krishna Warehouse located in Beharakhedi village in the Rehti area.

Upon the matter coming to the attention of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, he viewed the allegations seriously and issued immediate instructions for action, resulting in the officer's suspension.

The Ministry of Agriculture has used this action to send a clear message that any form of irregularity or bribery in government processes related to farmers and warehouse operators will not be tolerated and that strict action will be taken against such complaints.
