Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy will join the cleanliness drive in New Delhi on October 1 and inaugurate an e-waste collection stall.

Union Minister for Coal and Mines, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, will participate in the “One Day, One Hour, Together” collective voluntary Shramdan program on October 1, 2026. The event is organized by the Ministry of Mines as part of the 'Swachhata Hi Seva-2026' campaign and will take place at Yashwant Place in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. During the program, the Union Minister will carry out cleanliness activities alongside officials, employees, and sanitation workers, and will interact with the personnel involved in the maintenance of public spaces.
This initiative by the Ministry of Mines aims to promote public participation and develop a sense of collective responsibility toward a clean and green environment. As part of this campaign, the Ministry has adopted a park at GPOA-3 in Netaji Nagar, New Delhi, which will be used for planned landscaping and beautification to develop it into a clean and well-organized public area.
Additionally, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy will inaugurate an e-waste collection stall at GPOA-3. This stall will facilitate the collection of discarded electronic and electrical equipment. The e-waste collection drive will operate for one month, from October 2 to October 31, 2026. During this period, officials and employees will be encouraged to bring their old electronic devices to the designated center, which will later be sent for scientific processing and recycling through authorized mechanisms.
A primary objective of this initiative is to highlight the resource value of e-waste to recover critical minerals and valuable materials. This step is aimed at increasing resource efficiency, reducing dependence on natural materials, and supporting the principles of a Circular Economy. According to the Ministry of Mines, this campaign is part of broader efforts to promote the responsible use of resources and the recovery of critical minerals from secondary sources.
