The Indian Navy's missile stealth frigate INS Trishul has reached Plymouth, UK, to participate in the joint naval exercise Konkan-2026.

The Indian Navy's modern missile stealth frigate, INS Trishul, has arrived in Plymouth, United Kingdom. The warship is set to participate in the annual maritime exercise 'Konkan-2026' alongside the Royal Navy. This exercise, conducted between India and the UK, serves as a symbol of the strong maritime partnership between the two nations.
The exercise is being held in two phases near Plymouth, UK, from October 8 to October 15, 2026. The first 'Harbour Phase' includes various professional dialogues, mutual ship visits, sporting competitions, cultural programs, and warship tours for invited guests.
During the second 'Sea Phase' of the exercise, complex maritime operational drills involving air, surface, and underwater maneuvers will be conducted between the ships of both countries. This edition of Konkan-2026 will be particularly challenging, incorporating various aviation operational activities including cross-deck aircraft landings, firing drills, air defense, complex navigation maneuvers, and anti-submarine warfare exercises.
This maritime exercise reaffirms the shared commitment of both nations to ensuring a safe, open, and independent maritime domain. Furthermore, it reflects the comprehensive strategic partnership outlined in the 'India-UK Vision 2035'. Over the past two decades, the scope and complexity of this exercise have increased, fostering greater coordination and mutual understanding between the two navies.
