Indian Railways Announces Recruitment for 3,548 Graduate-Level NTPC Posts, Deadline November 6
The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have announced 3,548 vacancies for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) at the graduate level, with the majority of positions being for Goods Train Managers.

Indian Railways, through the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), has issued Centralized Employment Notification (CEN) No. 06/2026, announcing the recruitment of 3,548 posts under the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC-Graduate). This recruitment offers eligible graduates an opportunity to build a career in the fields of commercial services, train operations, accounts, and administration within the railways.
The details of the total vacancies are as follows: 2,750 posts for Goods Train Manager, 371 posts for Senior Clerk cum Typist, 300 posts for Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, and 127 posts for Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor.
Regarding the pay scale, according to the Seventh Central Pay Commission, the initial basic pay for the Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor will be ₹35,400 per month under Pay Level 6. For the other three categories, the initial basic pay is set at ₹29,200 per month under Pay Level 5. Other allowances and service conditions will apply as per the rules.
Application Process and Important Dates: Online applications commenced on October 8, 2026, and eligible candidates can apply until 11:59 PM on November 6, 2026. The deadline for depositing the examination fee is November 8, 2026. If any corrections are needed in the application, the modification window will be open from November 9 to November 18, 2026.
Eligibility and Selection Process: Candidates must possess a degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university. As of January 1, 2027, the applicant's age must be between 18 and 33 years, with age relaxations provided to eligible categories under prescribed rules. The selection process will consist of Computer Based Tests (CBT) in the first and second stages, followed by document verification and a medical examination as required.
Special Provisions: The recruitment process includes provisions for reservations, age relaxations, scribe assistance, and compensatory time for candidates with disabilities. Additionally, candidates for the posts of Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist and Senior Clerk cum Typist are exempt from the Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST); however, basic computer and typing proficiency will be evaluated after joining the duty.
