Shramdan Organized at PM SHRI School in New Delhi Under 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2026', Led by Secretary T.K. Anil Kumar
The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, organized a cleanliness Shramdan and plantation program in New Delhi as part of the 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2026' campaign.

The Department of School Education and Literacy, under the Union Ministry of Education, organized a 'Swachhata Shramdan' (voluntary labor for cleanliness) at a PM SHRI School in New Delhi as part of the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' (SHS) 2026 campaign. The initiative was led by Mr. T.K. Anil Kumar, Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy. Organized under the supervision of Eco Clubs formed for 'Mission LiFE', the event saw active participation from students, teachers, and senior officials of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS).
During this cleanliness drive, the school premises, nearby community areas, and the park located in front of the school were cleaned. The primary objective of this collective effort was to unite the school and the local community to promote cleanliness. Following the Shramdan, a plantation program was organized under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0' initiative, in which students enthusiastically participated to spread the message of environmental conservation and a sustainable lifestyle.
To raise awareness among students regarding waste management, a quiz on the 'Solid Waste Management Manual' was also conducted. Through interactive learning, students were educated on the importance of waste segregation at the source and responsible waste disposal. During the program, discussions were held on the role schools can play in developing responsible habits toward cleanliness and the environment among students.
Several officials were actively involved in the event, including Mr. Dheeraj Sahu, Additional Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy; Ms. Archana Sharma Awasthi, Additional Secretary; Ms. Prachi Pandey, Joint Secretary; Dr. Amarpreet Duggal, Joint Secretary; Dr. Pankaj K.P. Shreyaskar, Deputy Director General (Statistics); Ms. Deepika Jain, Chief Controller of Accounts; and Mr. Vikas Gupta, Commissioner of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS). This program reflects the department's commitment to realizing the vision of a 'Clean and Developed India' and making cleanliness an integral part of daily life.
