Sudhar Utsav 2026 to be Organized in Hyderabad: Digital Transformations in Cotton and Silk Sectors to be Showcased
The Ministry of Textiles will host a special event in Hyderabad on October 6, 2026, to demonstrate technical reforms aimed at strengthening the cotton and silk value chains.

The Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, through its public sector undertaking, the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) Limited, is set to organize a special demonstration event in Hyderabad, Telangana, on October 6, 2026. The event will be held as part of 'Sudhar Utsav 2026,' with the primary objective of showcasing transformative reforms implemented to make the cotton procurement system more farmer-centric, transparent, technology-driven, and efficient.
The event will bring together various stakeholders from the cotton and textile sectors, including senior government officials, representatives from the Telangana government, policymakers, farmers, and industry associations. During the proceedings, presentations will be made on digital reforms introduced by the CCI, such as farmer registration, digital slot booking, direct payments, quality assessment, and traceability. A short film will also be screened to illustrate the impact of these initiatives.
Special focus will be placed on the 'Cotton Farmer Digital Platform,' which integrates processes ranging from farmer registration to Aadhaar-enabled payments. Additionally, discussions will cover efforts to promote premium quality cotton under the 'Kasturi Cotton India' initiative and measures to increase productivity through the High-Density Planting System (HDPS).
Alongside cotton, the event will highlight reforms undertaken by the Central Silk Board (CSB). This includes the digitization of Silk Mark services, which has benefited MSMEs and silk stakeholders by simplifying registration and document processing. Information will also be shared regarding the 'Mera Resham Mera Abhiman' (MRMA) campaign, which has utilized digital platforms to bring modern silk production techniques to thousands of farmers.
This initiative by the Ministry of Textiles reflects a vision to create an integrated textile value chain described as 'from farm to fiber, fiber to factory, factory to fashion, and fashion to foreign.' There are also plans to showcase the entire journey of silk production through 'Seri-Tourism Hubs' currently being developed by the CSB in Manasbal, Jammu and Kashmir, and Topatoli, Assam.
