Dr. Jitendra Singh Reviews Progress of 'Special Campaign 6', Emphasizes E-Files and Digitization
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh visited the DARPG office to review Special Campaign 6, directing officials to enhance government efficiency and promote the 'Waste to Wealth' vision.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, and Minister of State for the Prime Minister's Office, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, visited the office of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) at Sardar Patel Bhawan in New Delhi on October 5, 2026. During the visit, he reviewed the progress of 'Special Campaign 6'.
The primary objective of this campaign is to institutionalize cleanliness in government offices, reduce the number of pending cases, and promote the efficient use of resources. Dr. Singh was accompanied during the review meeting by DARPG Secretary Mrs. Nivedita Shukla Verma, Additional Secretary Mr. Puneet Yadav, Joint Secretary Mr. Avnish Kumar Mishra, and other senior officials.
Dr. Jitendra Singh instructed officials to accelerate the transition from physical records to the use of e-files. He called for the rapid digitization of records and the adoption of modern management methods to ensure better governance and efficient office functioning. He emphasized that the recycling of e-waste and scrap promotes the government's 'Waste to Wealth' vision and the principles of a circular economy, allowing unused materials to be brought back into productive use.
Dr. Singh stated that the campaign is being monitored through a single digital platform. Focus areas include the scientific disposal of e-waste, the timely settlement of pending matters related to parliamentary assurances, MP references, the Prime Minister's Office, IMC, and state governments, as well as improved record management and the optimal use of office space.
He praised the efforts of the nodal department, DARPG, which has institutionalized this campaign since 2021. Referring to the activities that commenced on October 2, 2026, he noted that the campaign links Mahatma Gandhi's vision of cleanliness with administrative reforms.
As an example of the campaign's positive impact, it was highlighted that a long-unused space filled with scrap at DARPG has been completely cleaned and converted into a large common room for the convenience of employees. Dr. Singh remarked that Special Campaign 6 is no longer limited to cleanliness alone, but has become a comprehensive effort to strengthen good governance and increase administrative efficiency.
