Indian Railways Launches New Initiative: Two New MEMU Trains to Connect Meerut City with Khurja and Saharanpur

Indian Railways has granted approval for the introduction of two new MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) services connecting Meerut City with Khurja and Saharanpur to enhance rail connectivity in Uttar Pradesh. The operation of these new rail services is expected to strengthen regional rail connectivity and provide passengers with additional commuting options.

The first service, operating as train numbers 64573/64574, will run between Khurja and Meerut City. Train number 64573 will depart from Khurja at 13:15 and arrive at Meerut City at 17:20, taking 4 hours and 5 minutes for the journey. On the return leg, train number 64574 will depart from Meerut City at 11:25 and reach Khurja at 16:00, completing the trip in 4 hours and 35 minutes.

The second service, operating as train numbers 64580/64579, will run between Saharanpur and Meerut City. Train number 64580 will depart from Saharanpur at 05:50 and reach Meerut City at 08:10, with a travel time of 2 hours and 20 minutes. Conversely, train number 64579 will leave Meerut City at 17:45 and arrive in Saharanpur at 20:40, taking 2 hours and 55 minutes.

According to the Ministry of Railways, both MEMU trains will have commercial stoppages at all stations along their routes to ensure better connectivity for passengers across the entire section.
